Our GMs are not here to tell a story, but are here to respond to what your characters do, and dole out the rewards and consequences of those actions. Play in games where stories grow organically not with a list of predetermined fights and encounters to fit “the story”

Contrary to popular belief, DND 5E is NOT the easiest game for beginners to learn, in fact, it’s noticeably more complex than many games. We offer guided experiences to easily onboard new players to the hobby and for specific games. (With experienced Game Masters)
Life is complicated, we get it! Sometimes you’re in the mood for a campaign that spans years and sometimes your calendar is only open a couple of months. Our campaigns come in various lengths to cater to your needs.
Every game requires some level of player skill sometimes it’s about your build, sometimes it’s tactics and most of all, creative and critical thinking. Our GMs guide you to use and practice these skills so you’ll get better every session, but we never spoon feed!
Hi! My name is Nicholas Chen I started The Alternative RPG Club because I was really tired of Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition.
I was tired of the constant unfulfilling combat, the heroic fantasy stories with no consequence and the unbalance builds.
Then I tried some other RPGs and realised that this hobby was a lot more diverse and more importantly FUN than 5th Edition ever showed me!
So I quite my corporate job and I’ve been building this up for the past 3 years.
I hope to introduce others to the other RPGs I found so compelling and to tell those jaded with 5th Edition that it doesn’t have to be this way!

I was a forever GM ever since I started playing TTRPGs and I started with DND 5th Edition. So my shit tolerance is high. What started out as a hobby for friends turned into passion and now hundreds of people have paid me to run games.
When I got sick of DND 5E I realised there was so much more to the hobby and it opened my eyes to new worlds, experiences and possibilities! To date i have experience in over 50 games.
From private games, corporate games, public games to cons, we’ve done it all to great length. Each of our sessions last roughly 3 hours and we play twice a month for campaigns.
I’ve trained and performed improv at shows and festivals and it’s a skill that keeps my games spontaneous and surprising!
From small 2-5 session campaigns to campaigns that have run for years, we love experiences that immerse and give depth to players.
One of the best things I brought over from my corporate experience is teaching adults! I have a Advanced Certificate in Training and Assesment from the Institute for Adult Learning Singapore. Which helps me teach games better and faster.
